What is considered a dental emergency?

Dental emergencies can be caused in a wide variety of ways, including sports related injuries, accidents, infections and rotting tooth decay. Listed below are symptoms of a dental emergency:

  • Any pain in your teeth, mouth or head region
  • Severe swelling in your mouth, neck, or face
  • Any traumatic injury to your jaw, teeth, or mouth
  • Uncontrolled bleeding in the mouth
  • Anything that looks, feels, tastes or smells unusual in your mouth
