Dental Implants

Dental Implants are usually the best solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. With long term results that are almost perfect, implants are the most reliable way to go. Dr. Robert Thompson has completed extensive continuing education to enable him to place the perfect implant, ensuring that you have a long term functional and esthetic result.

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is an artificial titanium tooth root that gets inserted into the jawbone to help replace the root of the lost tooth. Once the tooth root osseointegrates or fuses with the jawbone, a replacement tooth can be attached to the anchoring implant. After the process is complete, the artificial tooth provides a functional and comfortable tooth that very closely resembles a natural tooth.

Who can get Tooth Implants?

Candidates need to be in good general health, with sufficient bone structure in the gums, in addition to healthy gums. Bone grafts may be required for patients who have insufficient amounts of jawbone due to shrinkage or unnatural development. A bone graft is an excellent way to add new bone into the jawbone. Make an appointment with one of our dentists to find out if you are a good candidate for dental implants.
