Born and raised in North Vancouver, Dr. Dan Rootes began his studies at the University of British Columbia, where he obtained an Agricultural Sciences degree. He then pursued his Doctorate in Dentistry from UBC, receiving his DMD in 2006. Dan played varsity football while attending UBC, winning the 1997 National Championship, while also receiving All-Star recognition.
Dr. Rootes moved east to Calgary following his graduation. This is where he started his career as a dentist, learning the power of continuing education and how important this education is in order to better serve his client's needs. Dr. Rootes really enjoys being a dentist, but is especially passionate about Family Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Endodontics. He is also a certified Laser Therapist, and completed an oral surgery externship at the Lincoln Medical Hospital in New York.
Dr. Rootes feels that communication is his best asset (with gentle hands a close second). He likes to make sure that all of his patients have been informed about their full dental status so that they can work together developing an appropriate plan for them. Dan has spent many years building upon his education to be able to handle any dental situation that might arise. He will use his communication skills, integrity, gentle hands and caring heart to make your dental experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
In 2011, Dr. Rootes and his wife, Kelli, moved back to BC, practicing dentistry in Vernon for two years. He and his wife decided that Kelowna was going to be the perfect place for them to start building their family so he opened Lifestyle Dentistry in January, 2013.
When not at the office, Dan likes to spend his time with his family and friends. In the summer months, he enjoys being outdoors playing golf, fishing, surfing and barbequing. In the winter, Dan can be found on the local mountain slopes, playing hockey, and even coaching football. He is very excited to join this community and looks forward to helping his client's achieve a healthy and happy smile.
